GBR is continuing expansion, and we’re looking for a contract copywriter. The ideal candidate has a strong, clear voice in their writing and can make the benefits of technical solutions understandable and compelling to a public sector audience.

  • Create and update a variety of marketing communications materials, including copy blocks, email invitations, speaking abstracts, website landing copy, and datasheets
  • Understand and communicate product positioning, relating it to larger public sector initiatives or technological trends
  • Maintain awareness of public sector trends and client style guidelines and editorial voice to position products effectively
  • Provide support when needed to develop additional collateral and presentations
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned


  • Previous experience creating engaging marketing copy for government audiences, including email invitations, web page landing copy, webinar abstracts. Please provide samples or a link to your portfolio with some examples that are specific to public sector audiences.
  • Consistent professional copywriting experience within the past 5 years (e.g., paid for your work)
  • A flexible personality, ability to adapt and overcome should be core to who you are
  • Fast-worker – getting it done right is critical, but so is getting it done quickly
  • Analytical, organized, and self-managing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Natively relentless in the pursuit of creating the most effective set of documents possible
  • A potently succinct and to-the-point style of writing
  • The ability to laugh…often.

Nice to have:

  • 20+ hours / week availability
  • Familiarity with Fortune 1000 technology companies and their products
  • Prefer DC/MD/VA location
